Personal Profile
I am an Industrial Policy Expert working with the Malawi Consulate General in Johannesburg. My major role is contribute to the promotion of Malawi as a proffered foreign investment destination. I do this through various tools that are designed to attract foreign direct investors into Malawi's strategic economic sectors that are deemed critical for its structural transformation. One of the tools is establishing strong networks and participation in key forums.
Prior to the above role, I spent a decade on the development of small and medium enterprises in Malawi through the formulation and implementation of enterprise development policies and programmes. Prior to joining Malawi's civil service in 2012, i worked for the Chamber of Commerce in Malawi where my role was to mobilize membership and consolidate embers voice in public policy process.
My knowledge and skills on growth paths, key economic policies and investment ecosystem make me a good addition to the table and meeting those who have interests in Malawi is my priority.
Company Profile
The Malawi Consulate General in Johannesburg was established to provide consular services to Malawian residents in or visiting South Africa and to promote: trade, investment and tourism between the two countries. In addition to serving South Africa, the Malawi Consulate General also offers similar services to Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Mauritius.
Programmes on trade, investment and tourism include:
1. Creation of awareness and visibility of Malawi's trade, investment and tourism opportunities
2. Facilitation of trade, investment and tourism missions from both sides
3. Identification of market opportunities for Malawian products
4. Facilitation of specific foreign investment t needs among others
