In 2005 at the age of 31, CEO Neesha Ramsumar was appointed as the CEO for Universal Knowledge Software an Edutech company that formed part of UCS that was listed on the JSE at the time. Her skills and attributes led her to serve as a Non- Executive Director on the boards of Agility, Alacrity, and Accsys during the past ten years.
In 2017 she ran a process to do a management buyout of Universal Knowledge Software, making UKS a BEE Level 1 contributor and a Gender Empowered organization.
Over the years she has fostered lasting partnerships with Global Tech companies in the USA, Netherlands, and France. She fiercely pursued the growth of the Edutech sector across Africa, working institutions within Botswana, Swaziland, Namibia, Zambia, Lesotho, Kenya, and Malawi.
Neesha was a finalist for the Nedbank Business Woman Award in 2007 and was one of the elite recipients of the prestigious Standard Bank Top Women Leaders Award in the Category of top Gender Empowered Company.
It is no wonder that she now serves as a mentor for MEST (Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (Ghana), an accelerator program targeted at early and growth-stage tech startups.
