The LS-MFEZ Limited is the special purpose vehicle (SPV) which was established in June 2012 by the Government of the Republic of Zambia to manage, operate and develop the LS-MFEZ (Special Economic Zone). The zone has 2,100 hectares of land which is designated for industrial, commercial, residential, research and development and institutional development. The zone provides services which include roads, electricity supply, fibre optic, and water sewerage network. Currently the zone has it has approved 41 companies to investment with estimated investment amounts of USD 1 billion. 16 companies are on the ground 12 campanies are now producing and expect one more to start producing by the end of the year with a estimated value of USD 350 million. The companies operating and constructing have created about 2000 jobs so far.
