Mr. Emanuel Chibesakunda is a business entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of “Plant A Million Zambia” which is a social business tackling deforestation & climate change. It is based on the 3Es (Education, Economy, Ecology) enabling sustainable & lasting impacts on people, profits & the planet.
He is co-founder of the solar company SunPower Africa and co-founder and President of the Zambia Renewable Energy Association (ZARENA) with the goal to shape the renewable energy sector in Zambia. Board member of Network of Excellence in Renewable Energy Technologies for Development“ (NEED).
He is co-founder of the NGO Share-For-Smiles, which supports educational projects for vulnerable children and youths in Africa working together with the President of Germany Horst Köhler and soccer player Philipp Lahm.
He is founder of the Munich Advisors Group with the aim to develop African solutions for African challenges and with over 15 years’ work experience in over 150 projects in Europe, USA, Africa and Asia after completing his sport career as member of the German Olympic team. Before establishing the Munich Advisors Group, he worked 5 years with Booz Allen Hamilton (today PWC Strategy&) and received the Professional Excellence Award.
He graduated with scholarships and a badge of honor from the Technical University of Munich/Germany with a MSc Business Engineering and obtained certificates from the University of California, Berkeley, USA in Business Administration, Leadership and Finance.
He was finalist for the Sustainable Entrepreneurship Award and runner-up for the Adler Award of the African Youth Foundation in Business and Entrepreneurs. He was jury member of Start Social initiative of the German Chancellor Angelika Merkel.
Further voluntary work includes the Education Partnerships in Africa (EPA) initiative for which he raised 2 million EUR.
