The LS-MFEZ Limited is the special purpose vehicle (SPV) which was established in June 2012 by the Government of the Republic of Zambia to manage, operate and develop the LS-MFEZ. The zone has 2,100 hectares of land which is designated for industrial, commercial, residential, research and development and institutional development. The zone provides services which include roads, electricity supply, fibre optic, and water sewerage network.
The zone also offers fiscal incentives such 0% import duty of machinery, equipment and raw materials; accelerated depreciation on capital equipment and machinery.
The zone was established to promote FDI, exports, research and development, job creation, investment, and industrialization in Zambia. The Vision of the LS-MFEZ is to establish a fully-fledged competitive and internationally recognized multi facility economic zone leading in the diversification of the Zambian economy.
The LS-MFEZ Limited currently provides land as its main product. It has 2,100 hectares of land which is designated for industrial, commercial, residential, and research and development, and institutional use. The zone leases industrial and commercial land on renewable 40 year leases.
