GOURISH CHAKRAVORTY is the CEO & Executive Director of Ion Exchange Safic ( JV of Ion Exchange India & SAFIC, South Africa); Ion Exchange India is a leading global Total Water Management Company, , a company with over five decades of experience in the field of Water Treatment, Waste Water Treatment and Recycling.
Mr. Chakravorty did his BSc ( Hons)/MSc specializing in Physical Chemistry from Delhi University. Professional Natural Scientist (South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions). He has participated in various International Conferences, presented papers in the related field. He has over 28 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment specializing in Ion Exchange technologies. Mr. Chakravorty joined Ion Exchange (India) Ltd, in December 1990. He has been involved in technical / marketing of Water Treatment / Cooling Water Management.
Mr Chakravorty has held various key international positions in the company. He has travelled extensively world over and developed relationship with several Consulting, Engineering, companies and water users in Asia, Europe and Africa.
Mr Chakravorty has been connected to Africa since 2005 and moved to South Africa in 2008. He has been instrumental in setting up operation of Ion Exchange India Ltd in various countries of Africa.
Mr Chakravorty is a member of the Advisory Board at the University of Pretoria, in the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and IT (EBIT). He is Member of Corrosion Institute of South Africa, Member of Institute of Directors in Southern Africa (IoDSA); Mr Chakravorty is also active in social & community front and holds positions of Director in Socio - voluntary organizations, engaged in social upliftment projects in South Africa. Mr Chakravorty holds position of President in India Club, South Africa.
